The National Swimming Center, also known as the "Water Cube", is located in Beijing Olympic Park and is the main swimming pool built by Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics and one of the landmarkbuildings of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Its design is the "Water Cube" (H2O) 3, which was produced by the global design competition. It is divided with the National Stadium (commonly known as the Bird's Nest) on both sides of the northern end of the central axis of Beijing, forming a relatively complete image of Beijing's historical and cultural city.
National Swimming Center planning construction land of 62950 square meters, the total construction area of 65,000-80000 square meters, of which the underground part of the construction area of not less than 15,000 square meters, length and width of 177 m x 177m x 30m.
During the 2008 Olympic Games, the National Swimming Center to undertake swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and other competitions, can accommodate the audience of 17,000 seats, of which the permanent audience seats for 6000 seats, during the Olympic Games to add 11,000 temporary seats (after the games will be removed).
